About the World Preservation Foundation (WPF)
The World Preservation Foundation’s objective is to collect and present the most pertinent and compelling scientific studies and reports, clearly showing how animal agriculture (meat, fish and dairy) is not only the leading cause of climate change, biodiversity loss, food and water security, but through adopting a plant-based organic food system all of these urgent issues can be halted and reversed.
As far back as 2006 the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) stated that: “The livestock sector emerges as one of the top two or three most significant contributors to the most serious environmental problems, at every scale from local to global”. Since this statement was made the situation has become much worse, and not enough is being done to educate the public on the gravity of this problem, as well as the organic plant-based diet solution.
History of the WPF
The WPF was founded in 2010 as a non-profit organization with the goal to educate people on the leading causes of climate change and other environmental disasters.
In 2010 we organized a climate conference in Westminster, London, UK with leading speakers and invited guests including British government MP’s. Since 2010 we have published a number of reports relating to the devastating effects caused to the environment from animal agriculture.
In 2016 we re-designed our website to prominently feature the main areas where the industry of meat, dairy and fishing are causing critical climatic, environmental, social and economic breakdown. A second ‘Business’ section of the Website highlights the positive changes and fast growing momentum from big-food companies responding to the phenomenal growth trend within the plant-based, vegan food industry.
